Scope and Limitations
Is your cognitive behavioral theory curriculum a substitute for professional therapy or medical advice?
No, our Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) curriculum is designed as a preventative educational resource to support mental well-being. It is not intended to replace professional therapy or medical advice. It provides general information, techniques, and strategies based on CBT principles aimed at promoting healthier thinking and behavior patterns. Our program is suitable for individuals seeking to enhance their mental wellness proactively.
Our curriculum does not constitute professional medical or psychological treatment. If you are experiencing mental health challenges, we strongly recommend seeking the advice and services of qualified healthcare professionals. Our curriculum should not be used as a diagnosis or treatment for any medical or psychological condition. Always consult a healthcare provider for personalized medical advice and treatment options.
Can your curriculum help me with my mental health diagnosis?
Our curriculum is intended as a preventative educational resource to support general mental well-being, using principles derived from cognitive behavioral theory. It is not intended to treat, diagnose, or manage any mental health disorders or conditions.
While our resources may offer strategies that individuals find helpful in managing stress and promoting mental wellness, they are not a substitute for professional medical evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment.
If you have or suspect you have a mental health diagnosis, we strongly advise consulting with a qualified healthcare professional who can provide personalized care tailored to your needs.
Should I stop seeing my therapist if I feel better using your curriculum?
Our curriculum is intended to complement your overall mental wellness strategy, not replace the professional guidance provided by a therapist or other healthcare provider.
If you're currently seeing a therapist and find our resources helpful, that's great news! However, decisions about changing or ending therapy should always be made in consultation with your therapist or healthcare provider, who understands your unique circumstances. They can provide personalized recommendations based on a comprehensive understanding of your individual mental health needs.
Will this curriculum work for everyone?
Our cognitive behavioral theory-based curriculum is designed to provide general strategies and knowledge aimed at supporting mental well-being. Decades of research have shown cognitive behavioral tools to be effective across cultures, ages, genders, you name it! But there is no one-size-fits-all toolkit.
Just as individual experiences with mental health can vary greatly, so too can the effectiveness of any single educational resource. Our curriculum offers valuable insights and tools for many individuals, but it is not a one-size-fits-all solution and it is not designed to address specific mental health conditions or replace professional advice.
We encourage users to view our curriculum as one component of a comprehensive approach to mental wellness and to seek professional guidance for personalized support as needed.
Will completing your curriculum provide me with a certification or qualification in cognitive behavioral therapy?
Our curriculum is designed to educate individuals on the principles of cognitive behavioral theory as a means to support personal mental well-being.
Our curriculum does not confer a professional qualification or certification of any kind. Completing our curriculum is intended for personal growth and understanding and should not be considered equivalent to professional training or certification by accredited institutions.
If you are interested in pursuing a career in psychotherapy or seeking professional qualifications, we recommend contacting accredited educational institutions or professional bodies in the field of psychology and mental health.
How do I know if your curriculum is right for me?
Our curriculum is crafted to provide educational content aimed at promoting mental well-being and introducing users to cognitive behavioral strategies. It might be right for you if you are looking for ways to proactively support your own, your team's, or your family’s mental health and wellness through education and practical exercises.
While these tools have been shown through decades of research to be effective in addressing a range of mental health conditions, it is important to understand that our curriculum is not tailored to individual needs or specific mental health conditions.
If you have concerns about your mental health or are looking for personalized advice, we strongly advise consulting with a healthcare professional. They can provide guidance tailored to your individual circumstances and help determine the most appropriate resources or interventions for your needs.

What are the benefits of the Chimney Trail Health Training Program?
Imagine feeling confident in your ability to handle any challenge life presents. Chimney Trail Health was designed to give you that peace of mind.
Chimney Trail Health exists to help you build resilience and emotional durability. We do this with a Cognitive Behavioral Theory training program, which draws on tools tested in rigorous research trials and has been vetted by highly trained psychologists from some of the top universities in the United States.
Your training course includes a curriculum of five training kits, which we refer to as Waypoints. We ship one of the five kits each quarter over a 12-month period. Each Waypoint guides you through a self-led CBT activity that addresses 2 of the 10 most common cognitive distortions, or biases.
Last but not least, you are joining a community. It takes a village and you have one here at Chimney Trail Health. Our online portal provides access to tools and resources to help you master cognitive behavioral tools. And, with our interactive Waypoint Kits, you can share your journey with colleagues or family to help support your local tribe too!
What ages are your Waypoint Kits suitable for?
Our content is designed for people of all ages. Extensive research shows that people of all ages can benefit from learning and applying Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) principles.
CBT is used in child and therapy, increasingly taught in many school wellness programs, and has been shown to help prevent and treat mental health concerns and to increase wellness.
How does buying Waypoint Kits help the community?
We are facing a clear and present crisis when it comes to our collective mental health.
The combination of having to hunker down to withstand the worst shocks of COVID, social media giants creating applications to specifically arrest our attention, and important social organizations experiencing bankruptcy and record low levels of participation has left many dealing with heightened levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. We have a DUTY to step in.
Chimney Trail Health is one tiny part of the arsenal of intervention we deserve. If you find a better way to address this pending crisis, call us on the phone and we'll start working on that instead. In the meantime, this CBT training curriculum is the most scientifically-vetted answer available.
We introduce fun, resilience-building activities, all centered on outdoor engagement. Age is not a limiting factor for anyone. The unscripted nature of wilderness spaces coupled with the process of planning, discussing, doing, and revisiting the memory of a shared adventure is like giving yourself armor against anxiety and depression.
It's not a panacea, but it's pretty darn close. These connections to each other and novel spaces make us human. Without them, of course, we're lost.
Let's get back to basics. Start with yourself!
Community benefit is a natural, happy outcome. And yes...Chimney Trail Health also gives back to selected charitable organizations specializing in the support of military and mental healthcare research.
